Have you ever stayed in a deluxe room at a hotel? The king size beds found in those luxurious rooms can be enough to make anyone weep when they have to go home to their queen or double bed. The size does make all the difference and do not let anyone tell you different. No bedroom suite is complete without a king size bed to accommodate you, no matter how you sleep. The inn bed has ruined you and now you are looking into buying a king size bed for your own bedroom. But first there are some things to consider before making that purchase.
Yes, you have had a wonderful stay at the hotel and now you want a king size bed at home. But you have to realize a few things right off the bat. Do you have room for a king size bed or is a queen bed the only thing that will fit into your bedroom. Some people would rather have king size beds than space so this choice is entirely up to you. Others do not have a situation in the bedroom where there is an excessive amount of space so you have to think through this choice carefully.
The beds headboards are going to be much larger than what you would typically find on queen beds. It may mean up to a foot of difference on each side depending on the style of headboard that you choose. The footboard will be the same way. You will be giving up precious bedroom space. You could go with just a headboard and leave the footboard off to conserve space and allow you additional freedom at the end of the bed. This is especially great for very tall people who have to worry about their feet hanging off the bed. You should also consider that bedding will be more expensive for a king size bed than for a traditional full or queen mattress.
If your master bedroom is big enough to accommodate king size beds then by all means go for it. You will have that deluxe feeling that you got when you stayed at that luxurious hotel. You will absolutely love the space. The moment is set up you will want to roll across the bed luxuriating in the feeling of not being crowded while you sleep. That in itself is worth giving up any extra space that you may lose by switching to a king size bed.

There comes a time in every parent’s life where they must consider updating their kids furniture from that of a toddler bed to something older and more in line with their age.
Daybeds can bridge this gap for many young girls. It is an excellent way to change the bedroom collections of girl’s bedrooms and give them something beautiful they can have as the centerpiece to their room. A daybed can also serve as a guest bed in a spare room but more on that later.
Daybeds are similar to futons in that they both resemble a couch or a loveseat. The back to the daybed is along the side rather than the traditional bed having the headboard and footboard. You can find a daybed in a variety of materials ranging from metal to wood. The metal daybed is not as sturdy as the wooden daybed so you may want to keep this in mind if your daughter is young and into climbing.
As far as kids furniture goes the daybed can also serve as a full size bed if you have the trundle bed that is stored below. The trundle bed will wheel out and accommodate extra friends if your daughter is having a sleep-over. If you are using the daybed as a spare bed for guests, this can be beneficial as most adults would choose not to sleep on twin beds if they can help it.
The daybed will typically come unassembled, which means that you will be spending some time assembling the bed. If you follow the instructions you should be able to put the bed together in a few hours. They are really not that hard to assemble and are worth the effort when you see your daughter’s face as she climbs onto the bed for the first time. Just make sure that the bed is sturdy before you let her climb all over it. That means no extra parts left over. All parts are included for a reason.
Making the transition from toddler beds over to daybeds can be quite exciting. Your daughter will love getting to look at different bedroom collections that are specifically for young girls. She will love updating her room into a style that is completely her own. You can rest easier at night knowing she is lying in a bed that is not too short for her or one that is uncomfortable.
